UK – Waste-to-Energy

The Bioenergy Infrastructure Group (“BIG”) was established in 2015 with over £200 million of equity commitments from Infracapital, Helios Energy Investments, Aurium and Foresight. Since then, BIG has benefitted from a window of opportunity for a well-capitalised independent power producer (IPP) to aggregate high quality projects in an otherwise fragmented market. BIG raised a second round of investment, bringing its total capital to ca. £500 million.

BIG is currently establishing the UK’s largest portfolio of biomass and waste to energy facilities. Its current assets and pipeline comprise over ca.150MWp of construction and operational projects.
